Simple ways to make your baby smarter

1. Make eye contact. Try to look right into your baby’s eyes whenever you have a chance. Do not let those brief moments when your newborn's eyes are open come to past. Look right into them. Babies recognize faces and yours is the most important! Each time he stares at you, he's building his memory.

2. Blab away and go goo goo ga  ga.  You may get a blank look. Soon your baby will catch on to the rhythm of conversation and start joining in.

3. Tickle your baby’s toes. Laughter is the beginning of developing a sense of humor. In fact you can tickle her all over.

4. Sing a song. Sing her a song. Learn more tunes. Some research suggests that learning the rhythms of music is linked to learning math.

5. Breast-feed, if possible. Breast milk is the best food for the baby. And do it for as long as you can. It's a fact that breast-fed babies have higher IQs. In addition, breast feeding is a great time to bond with your baby by singing, talking, or simply stroking her hair.

6. Turn off the television. No TV show can provide that one-on-one interaction which is needed for your baby’s brain to develop, no matter how educational it is.

7. Get your baby to touch and feel. Keep a box of different-textured fabrics. Gently rub the cloths on your baby's cheek, feet, and tummy, describing the way each feels.

8. Count everything. Count how many building blocks your baby can stack. Or the number of toys on the floor. Or his fingers and toes. Count it out loud, and soon he'll join in.

9. Read books. Scientists have found that babies as young as 8 months can learn to recognize the sequence of words in a story when it's read 2 or 3 times in a row. Reading to them will help them learn language.

10. Baby cloth book which is made out of soft cloth help them learn texture when they hold it. The colourful pages will hold their attention longer. This educational toy is a wonderful way to stimulate important key skills, like language & reading skills and communication skills. Babies can easily comprehend the message in the baby cloth book and will give them a head start on learning. It’s never too early to start reading to a child.
